Frequently Asked Questions
Authenticity & Certificate of Authenticity
Does each artwork come with a Certificate of Authenticity?
Yes. Every original artwork ships with a signed Certificate of Authenticity (COA) documenting the title, medium, dimensions, year of creation, and edition status. The COA is your permanent record of provenance and is essential for insurance and resale purposes.
Are your works one-of-a-kind?
All paintings and mixed-media pieces are unique originals. No reproductions or prints are sold under the Maya Fakhrriddine Fine Art name unless explicitly stated in the listing.
Shipping & Insurance
How are large originals packaged?
Each artwork is wrapped in acid-free tissue, cushioned with archival foam, and double-boxed or crated depending on size and fragility. Mixed-media and plaster works receive additional structural protection to safeguard textured surfaces in transit.
Is shipping insured?
Yes. All shipments are fully insured for the purchase price. In the rare event of damage or loss in transit, we will work with you directly to file a claim and make it right.
What are the shipping costs?
Complimentary insured shipping is included on all US orders over $1,000. Shipping costs for orders below that threshold and for international destinations (Canada, UK, Australia) are calculated at checkout based on size, weight, and destination.
How long does delivery take?
Domestic US orders typically ship within 3–5 business days of payment confirmation. International orders may take 7–14 business days depending on customs clearance. You will receive tracking information as soon as your order is dispatched.
Returns & Exchanges
Can I return an original artwork?
Because each piece is a unique, one-of-a-kind original, all sales are final. We encourage you to reach out before purchasing if you have any questions about color, scale, texture, or how a work will look in your space — we are happy to provide additional photographs, video walkthroughs, or a virtual placement preview.
What if my artwork arrives damaged?
Please inspect your package upon delivery and photograph any damage before opening further. Contact us within 48 hours at the address on your order confirmation. All shipments are insured, and we will guide you through the claims process promptly.
Framing & Hanging Hardware
Do the works arrive framed?
Unless a listing explicitly states that a frame is included, artworks are sold unframed. Gallery-wrapped canvases are finished on the sides and ready to hang as-is. Panel and paper works are shipped flat or rolled and are intended for custom framing.
Is hanging hardware included?
Gallery-wrapped canvases include a hanging wire or D-ring hardware on the back. For unframed works on paper or panel, we recommend consulting a local framer for the appropriate mounting solution.
Care Instructions
How do I care for a mixed-media or plaster artwork?
Keep the work away from direct sunlight, high humidity, and extreme temperature fluctuations. Dust lightly with a soft, dry brush — never use water, solvents, or cleaning sprays on the surface. For textured plaster works, avoid touching the raised surfaces, as natural oils from skin can affect the finish over time. If restoration is ever needed, please consult a professional conservator.
Can I hang the work in a bathroom or kitchen?
We recommend against it. Mixed-media and plaster works are sensitive to moisture and steam. A climate-controlled interior wall away from direct light is ideal.
Commissions
Do you accept commission requests?
Yes. Commissioned works are a meaningful part of the studio practice. Each commission is a collaborative process — you share your vision, space, and intention, and Maya translates that into an original piece made specifically for you.
How does the commission process work?
It begins with a $100 Commission Planning Session — a dedicated consultation to discuss your space, palette, scale, and the story you want the work to tell. The $100 session fee is credited in full toward the final commission price, so it costs you nothing extra if you move forward.
How long does a commission take?
Timelines vary depending on complexity and studio availability, but most commissions are completed within 6–12 weeks. You will receive progress updates and have the opportunity to provide feedback before the work is finalized.
