Welcome to my world!

Hi there, I'm Maya Fakhrriddine (Fak-ri-deen).

I create abstract paintings for people who live inwardly and are drawn to beauty that carries meaning. My work is made as a sanctuary, a place to return to when life is loud. Through texture, light, and layered form, each piece invites stillness, realignment, healing, and a quiet kind of strength. These paintings are not meant to simply match a space. They are meant to change the feeling of it.

early years

As a first-generation Lebanese American, my life has been shaped by the duality of two worlds. I grew up searching for belonging, and in that search I became attentive to what connects us beneath culture, language, and identity as a whole

That lifelong curiosity led me to the question that still guides my work: What is the essence of being human, and how do we return to it?

I believe we are spiritual beings navigating the complexities of human existence, and my art reflects this philosophy. Each piece is an invitation to transcend the material world and reconnect with the spiritual realm within. It offers a moment of tranquility amid life’s chaos.

what informs my practice

I work in series. Each body of work begins with a theme I want to explore conceptually, then I return to it across multiple paintings so it can deepen over time. My starting points shift from series to series. They might come from a question I cannot stop thinking about, a spiritual reflection, a cultural memory, or a visual cue from the natural world. Some collections draw from Arabic letterforms, cultural cues, and Quranic references.

When I lost my brother at sixteen, I began searching for what remains true when life changes without warning. Much of my work is rooted in that search. Each series becomes a space to process grief, faith, memory, and belonging. I hope the work offers you a quiet presence you can live with and return to over time.

If you are drawn to work that holds meaning quietly, you are in the right place.

for art collectors

If you collect original contemporary art and value depth, restraint, and spiritual resonance, my work offers pieces made to last, emotionally and materially. These paintings are held in private collections and created for those who want art that does more than decorate: art that orients, grounds, and quietly reflects the inner life of the person living with it.

When I'm not in my studio, you'll find me:

going for walks in Balboa Park or Seaport Village with my family,

trying out different boutique coffee shops,

and having the time of my life being her mother!
